I use proxmox (virtual systems) to host my local only dev server on my old quadcore laptop running two machines, one for auth and the other for world. The game files sync up to dropbox so i can change them without needing to use an ftp client or using remote desktop to change configs or update the core. (it does not sync the maps,mmaps,vmaps,dbc folder)

just run a db on your comp locally.

Man, Why the hell cant ubuntu / mac osx put windows remote desktop server support on there. Theres no way it cant be done. VNC IS TERRIBLE!

America needs to adopt some bandwidth, its 100USD for 50/10mbit and in sweden its 50 for 100/100 or 80+? for 1000mbit
